Youth hockey wouldn't be possible without the dedication and support of volunteers! It takes a team behind the scenes to make sure our players have a great hockey experience, and we're looking for a few individuals to join us and help make the upcoming season a success!
We are currently looking for volunteers for the following positions:
Ice Allocator
- Maintain the ice schedule for the season.
- Work with team managers to coordinate ice times for rearranged games and practices.
- Collaborate with arena managers to ensure ice time is organized and scheduled effectively.
VP of Rep
- Help form rep teams during tryouts.
- Serve as the main point of contact between rep team managers and the SMHA Board.
- Communicate with the Technical Director regarding team schedules, plans, practices, and other team-related matters.
- Help support rep team operations throughout the season.
Metro Coordinator
- Help form metro teams during tryouts.
- Assist with recruiting and organizing coaches.
- Serve as the main point of contact between metro team managers and the SMHA Board.
- Help support metro teams and their operations throughout the season.
Volunteering in youth hockey is a great way to give back to the game, support our young athletes, and help create a positive experience for players, coaches, and families. These roles are an important part of keeping our association running smoothly and ensuring our kids have the opportunity to learn, grow, and enjoy the game we all love!
