Player Development Program & Registration Deadline

Player Development Nights

We are excited to launch our revamped Development Night, a 16-week development program designed by Chris Culligan, SMHA Technical Director. Chris will be providing the 16-week development plan that will guide each session. Chris will also be on the ice once per month, providing direct instruction and helping ensure the program stays aligned with the development plan.

Registration Priority

To make the best use of our available ice time, players will participate in capped assigned groups.

The program will be capped at 40 players, making registration important.

There is a $100 registration fee, which must be completed through grayjay pay to secure your player's place in the program. ( see image below)

Player Development Night has been exclusively available to SMHA members since August, giving our members the first opportunity to participate.

SMHA members have priority enrollment until Friday morning.

Following the Friday morning priority deadline, registration will be opened to players from the NWMHA MOU teams, provided the program has not already reached its 40-player maximum.

Once the 40-player cap is reached, registration will close.

Registration is important not only to secure a spot in the program, but also because the development groups need to be finalized before the first sessions.

Groups will be created on Monday, allowing the coaching and development staff to organize players appropriately and prepare the sessions around those groups.

The program will then begin the following week:

  • Tuesday nights: U9 & U11

  • Thursday nights: U11 through U18

With a maximum of 40 participants, we strongly encourage SMHA families who intend to participate to complete their registration and payment before the Friday morning priority deadline.

We are excited to offer this opportunity to our players and look forward to getting the groups organized and the program underway.
